There are several options that can be employed to improve the look of your printed material. At Premier we specialize in comb or wire binding, ring binders and laminating. Other options are die cutting, embossing and mounting.
Comb or plastic binding comes in several colours [black, white, blue, red and green being the most popular]. The sizes range from 6mm which will hold up to 10 leaves, up to 52mm which will hold 500 leaves.
Wire or Wiro binding is available in black, white, blue, red, silver and bronze and is more limited in size, only going up to 25mm which holds about 220 leaves.
Plastic or Wire binding gives you the option of adding a special cover and back, laminating the cover, mounting the cover onto a board or simply protecting your document with a clear plastic cover and a piece of card at the back.
Fastback binding is another option that will keep your document neat and easy to store but the pages do not lie flat when the booklet is opened. Perfect binding [the way paper-backs are bound] is the more expensive option for binding but gives your book a longer shelf life.
Ring binders are the best option for very large documents, especially if several sections are required with tabs and if sections are being sent electronically out of page order. It enables you to add pages at the last minute. A ring binder can be enhanced by inserting or encapsulating a colour cover at the front and down the spine. The colour of the binder can also complement your logo or cover design. Ring binders are also made attractive by clever use of Tabs. These do not have to be the traditional 5 or 10 flight set. They can be printed in colour or have reverse type on a coloured background. If the tabs are to be handled frequently, we would suggest plasti-tabs for longer life and a professional appearance. Tabs customised to suit a document can make your presentation a many times better.
Use binding for all your reports, manuals and presentation material.

Matt and gloss laminates are available for any size up to A0. Gloss laminates enhances the colours but matt makes it easier to read and is less reflective in strongly lit locations – your choice! Laminating increases the life of your poster or treasured piece of work. It is also a clever way to make a cover for a document and with a matching laminated back you are ready for binding.
Colour posters of any size can be mounted onto a heavy card (1000,1500 or 2000 microns) or a foam board. We can also laminate onto a board. This is an excellent method for presenting and storing posters, especially for conferences or workshops. Mounted colour pages with matching backs also make excellent covers for booklets that are then wire bound.
Often printed jobs are designed in a variety of interesting shapes, with cut out panels, score lines and the like. This is achieved by using a “cookie cutter” type cutting knives. The printed sheets are fed through a die-cutting press that cuts the shape required. A final guillotine trim allows the waste segments to be removed and the job is ready for the customer.
A similar process to die-cutting and often uses the same press. Embossing uses a metal block to impress a shape into a piece of card. It is possible to raise part or all of the design off the sheet (emboss) or into the sheet (deboss). Embossing can be done with or without an inked image over the embossed area. It can give an extra tactile quality to a job.
